DESCRIPTION
You have a growing grasp of computers and feel comfortable finding your way around one. You know the basics of word processing and maybe even some internet functions. Computing for the Courageous provides the training you need to be not only confident but successful in your computing efforts. This may be the first step towards a new career or a promotion. It might benefit your own home business or simply help you to feel better equipped in the digital age. Whatever your aims, you'll benefit from your broad range of new computer skills. All courses will be delivered using Microsoft Office 2007.
WHO IS THE COURSE FOR?
Students should have some computing knowledge. The ideal learner will be familiar with a keyboard, mouse and Microsoft Word. This is a suitable follow-on from Computing for the Quietly Confident.

COURSE AIMS
This course is intended to expand students' repertoire of Microsoft Office programs and expand their knowledge of programs introduced in Computing for the Quietly Confident.
COURSE CONTENT
Course content may be tailored by the tutor to meet the needs of individual groups of learners. Topics are selected according to students' previous experience from a list of Microsoft Short Course options shown below.

- Word Intermediate 2007
- Excel Beginners 2007
- Excel Intermediate 2007
- PowerPoint Beginners 2007
- PowerPoint Intermediate 2007
- Access Beginners 2007
- Access Intermediate 2007
Beginners level courses presume participants have very little or no experience of the software and introduces you slowly to the basic functions of each application. Intermediate level courses enable competent users to use additional features of the packages.
Learners should finish the course with a better grasp of word processing, basic spreadsheets, digital presentations or databases.
Successful completion of this course also attracts an SQA Award - normally F3GC 09 Information and Communication Technology (Core Skill).
ENTRY REQUIREMENTS
There are no formal entry requirements for this course but it is assumed that students will have some knowledge of computing and basic Microsoft Office Applications.
