Freedom of Information
Introduction
The Freedom of Information (Scotland) Act 2002 came into effect on January 1st 2005. The Act aims to increase openness and accountability in government and across the public sector by ensuring that people have the right to access information held by Scottish public authorities

Publication Scheme
The Freedom of Information (Scotland) Act 2002 requires Scottish public authorities to adopt and maintain a Publication Scheme in which they list the types of information which they make available as a matter of course to the public.
