Accreditation of Prior Learning (APL)

Accreditation of Prior Learning uses previous achievements, skills and knowledge to credit you with nationally recognised qualifications. Achievements are matched up to existing qualifications and assessed.

What can be credited?

Your past learning and practical achievements will be given credit if you provide sufficient evidence to meet the qualification standards.

What is the process?

An initial interview will investigate your existing skills and knowledge. You will then be referred to a subject specialist who’ll advise you on the most suitable qualification to pursue.

How do I actually gain an award?

How much does APL cost?

This depends on the number of awards being attempted and whether an observational visit is required. Costs can be also be kept down by gathering as much evidence as possible to prove your claim to learning.
