Category: Computing & Information Technology

LENGTH

Maximum 10 months

Course Code

WHO IS THE COURSE FOR?

The aim of this unit is to develop skills in the use of MS Word. It should also increase understanding and skill in the use of more advanced operations associated with editing, layout, referencing, working with templates, tables, forms, text boxes and spreadsheets, creating macros and using advanced printing features.

DESCRIPTION

The materials are provided as web-pages for you to work through online. The module has an online folder, consisting of various web-pages. The main body of the module is made of exercises or Driving Lessons. Every Driving Lesson consists of a written explanation of the feature, Park and Read, followed by practical exercises or Manoeuvres. The files for the practical exercises are provided online as a ZIP file.

This method of learning gives you the opportunity to study when you wish, and furthermore, this method of study does not require a constant Internet connection. Once the page has been opened, you may disconnect from the Internet, work through the Park and Read information, attempt the Manoeuvres, then re-connect when you wish to go on to the next page.

Before you start studying, your tutor will contact you to arrange milestones for your study. Once these have been reached, you will arrange an assessment date with the Test Centre.

HOW WILL I BE ASSESSED?

An assessment will be carried out in the college assessment centre, when you have completed the course work.
