SVQ Performing Engineering Operations Level 2 (Electrical)

Category: Automotive, Construction & Engineering

LENGTH

1 year

DESCRIPTION

Engineering personnel need a general understanding of best practice and a basic understanding of safety. They should be able to recognise materials and processes and use a variety of types of communication. The course is aimed at a wide range of people, from school-leavers with no formal qualifications, to mature students who wish to re-train.

The course provides a foundation in electrical wiring and electronics and has the flexibility to meet both current and future engineering trends. It incorporates approximately 90% practical 'hands-on'  skills and 10% classroom subjects. Satisfactory completion of the course will result in the award of a VQ in Performing Engineering.

An SVQ Level 2 is a compulsory component of a Modern Apprenticeship.

Please note: A person can only be considered for a modern apprenticeship if they are employed.

ENTRY REQUIREMENTS

This course has no specific entry requirements.

WHO IS THE COURSE FOR?

This course provides the foundation and flexibility to meet both current and future engineering practices. It is suitable for students who wish to progress to work within an engineering environment and forms the initial training for those seeking a modern apprenticeship in Engineering.
