The course combines knowledge and practical skills in health, care and welfare of animals, selling and office skills.

ENTRY REQUIREMENTS

Introductory Level: This course is suitable for people with no qualifications or work experience. They should though, have a genuine interest in animals and be prepared for the written work associated with the course.

WHO IS THE COURSE FOR?

This is an introductory course for students planning to work with companion and collection animals.

HOW WILL I BE ASSESSED?

This course is mainly assessed on a continuous basis and does not include an external end-of-course examination. Coursework takes the form of short tests, reports, and practical projects. Most of the assessment of student work is undertaken by College staff.

PROGRESSION ROUTES / CAREER OPPORTUNITIES

Students successfully completing this course may progress to non-advanced courses in Animal Care subjects and subsequently onto HNC/HND courses.
