DESCRIPTION
This course is intended to develop students' foreign language abilities in all four language skill areas: speaking, listening, reading and writing.
This course is for learners with little to no knowledge of Spanish but an interest in learning this beautiful European language. This course is also suitable for those who may have studied Spanish at school or through self-study, who would like some revision in a structured class.
Contrary to popular belief, it's never too late to learn a new language. Learning a new language is not only useful in travel, but opens up a new world of literature and human understanding. Language classes are also a great way to make new friends, and experience a foreign culture without hopping a plane.
COURSE CONTENT
Students will be introduced to the basics of their chosen language, in a safe, fun, structured learning environment. By the end of the course, students should be able to:
- convey and request information orally in Spanish
- understand simple text
- understand spoken informationThe language will be explored in simple, familiar contexts such as:
- your interests, family & friends
- house and home
- leisure and social activity
- daily routines
- telling time, day, date
- weather, travel, directions
- shopping, prices, numbers
- eating out, food, drinkENTRY REQUIREMENTS OR GUIDANCE REQUIRED
There are no formal entry requirements for this course. Students will be asked to purchase a textbook, selected by the tutor, after the first meeting of the class.
