There are four Library+ sites at North East Scotland College, based at our Aberdeen City, Altens, Craibstone and Fraserburgh Campuses.
You'll find that each site offers different resources depending on the courses studied at that particular campus. For example the Altens Library+ will focus more on subjects like Engineering, Construction and Maths, whereas our Craibstone Library+ will put more of an emphasis on Animal Care and Horticulture.
What will I find in a Library+?
To put it simply, probably more than you think! Our library+ sites are not just lending libraries with thousands of books on offer. Amongst our resources you'll find:
- PC's and iMacs
- Laptop friendly work areas
- Core skills materials
- Books and Journals
- Newspapers and Magazines
- DVDs and Audio CDs
- Private study and research booths
- Printers, Scanners and Photocopies
- Self-help IT technical support pod and direct phone line to Student IT HelpZone (Craibstone, Altens & Fraserburgh only)
You can access these resources in person and via the Library course area on the College's virtual learning environment, Blackboard. In addition, Library+ staff are in place to help, and will happily assist you in making the most of your study time by offering support with information skills such as referencing, searching for and appraising information and research skills.
