MARSEILLE, FRANCE - ABERDEEN, SCOTLAND
My name is Sylvain Roussillon and I am 22 years old. I come from France, more precisely from Marseille in the south-east. I first came to Aberdeen in January 2000 for three months as my University had an exchange programme with Aberdeen College. I had a really enjoyable experience; I then decided to come back for one year to study English language.
What I liked the most was the way English is taught here since the English lessons I had in my country were sometimes boring and too theoretical. However, the lessons are livelier here as the students have access to several facilities, such as language laboratory or computers.
Another interesting point is the opportunity to meet a lot of other students from all over the world. Nevertheless, I regret the fact that we were not mixed with native speakers at any time, although I met some on my own.
Now that the year is finished, I am going to go back to France and I hope to find a job in the business/marketing sector. The courses I undertook here at Aberdeen College will be very useful as English is very important for working in a business environment. The qualifications I gained here will be a great help.
