European Projects

The purpose of the European projects team is to secure funding from a number of sources such as the European Life–Long Learning Programme, sponsorship from Members of the European Parliament, Scottish Parliament and other local, national and international funding sources.

These various funds enable staff and students to experience an European dimension in terms of exchanges, project work and staff training courses or job shadowing.

The MEP sponsorship is used to part fund student study tours to the European Parliaments, European Court of Human Rights and Council of Europe in Strasbourg. Every year visits to the Scottish Parliament and the High Court located in Edinburgh are facilitated.

An important element of the work of the European team is to develop both local and European partnerships in order to secure these European funds.

Local partnerships now exist with the two local Universities, the local authorities and a range of business interests and voluntary bodies.

The College's European contacts currently include Austria, Bulgaria, the Czech Republic, Denmark, Finland, France, Germany, Holland, Hungary, Italy, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Sweden, Norway, Poland, Portugal, Romania, Slovakia, Spain and Switzerland.

We are always keen to discuss new project ideas with prospective European partners so please do not hesitate to contact us. The following links contain information in different languages about us and some examples of previous and current project experience.
