During this Comenius multilateral European exchange partnership a group of Aberdeen College students explored teaching of music and performing arts in Germany and Finland.
The aim of the planned partnership was to discover and share good practice in teaching of music and performing arts through exchange visits to 3 different European partner schools/colleges.
Music and Performing arts have no intrinsic language barriers within the art form allowing participants to share in performance activities whilst supporting the acquisition of oral language skills. This in turn promotes European Citizenship and awareness of the diversity of cultural heritage.
A wide range of performing art forms was included in the overall programme ranging from rock, classical and traditional folk music to contemporary, traditional and ballet dance.
There was an opportunity to view and participate in learning through different educational philosophies.
