International Students (non EEA) - Point Based System - Tier 4
On 31 March 2009 the UK Government has replaced its current system of immigration with a 5 Tier system which has mandatory points criteria for each of its 5 Tiers. People who wish to study at Aberdeen College will apply under Tier 4 - migrants who want to study in the UK.

Tier 4 Students
This has two categories:
1. General Students
2. Child students
Aberdeen College is on the UK BA register of Highly Trusted Sponsor List. As well as registering as a sponsor and providing course applicants and visa extension applicants with the right documentation, we also have a duty, as your sponsor, to ensure that we comply with UK Border Agency requirements such as non-attendance, withdrawals, deferrals or changes to your course (e.g. duration).
International students (non–EEA) must obtain 40 points before you can apply for Tier 4 entry clearance.
40 Points |
30 Points | 30 points will be gained by providing a Confirmation of Acceptance for Studies number (CAS) from Aberdeen College |
| 10 Points | 10 points by meeting the maintenance requirements set by the UK Border Agency |
You must be able to cover the full cost of your fees plus have sufficient funds to cover your living expenses and that of any dependents (levels of funds are specified by the UKBA, please check their website for details).
