The students of Art and Design Non-Advanced Level 5 are presenting a colourful  end of course exhibition recreating their favourite topics from their course as well a group sculpture of a tree and individual small sculptures.

The exhibition and sculpture have been organised by the group for their Working with Others unit and they all want to give back something for all the time and paper that has been given throughout their course.

The tree symbolises their desire to plant trees, therefore replacing the paper used on the course and they will be collecting for Aberdeen Greenspace Trust throughout the week of the exhibition. www.aberdeengreenspace.org.uk/

(Aberdeen Greenspace will plant the trees in the autumn when the trees are dormant)

The group also wish to support Aberdeen Cyrenians who wish to invite Aberdeen College art students to use their city centre exhibition space in future. www.aberdeen-cyrenians.org/

The students should be commended on their community spirit and entrepreneurship.

Art Exhibition: "Trees in our environment" by Art & Design Level 5 Students

Gallowgate Centre, Loch Street Entrance, 10-9pm (Mon-Thurs), 10-3pm (Fri)

Inspired by the theme "Trees in our environment", Art & Design students were asked to create work for an end of term exhibition. In addition to traditional painting and drawing, the group has also created a sculpture in the form of a tree made from recycled materials. Each student has produced a small sculptural piece which is fastened onto, or placed around the tree creating a unique exhibit worthy of a visit.
